Urban Planning and Development
Planning & Development Services provides the City Council and community with creative guidance and effective implementation of land use development, planning, housing and environmental policies and programs in order to maintain and enhance the City’s safety, vitality, and attractiveness.
Economic Development
Many cities, counties and special districts are pursuing sustainable economic development – policies and practices that help communities attract and retain jobs for the long term, while also maintaining environmental quality, conserving resources, addressing economic disparities and promoting public health.
Capital Improvements Plan (CIP)
The Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) acts as an effective guide for the efficient and effective provision of public facilities, outlining capital and infrastructure project timing and finance schedules for a five-year planning period. The City Council examines and updates the Plan on an annual basis, and only the first year of the Plan is approved during the fiscal year budget process. The CIP accounts for a sizable portion of the budget.
